Equipment gaps are one of the biggest hygiene and safety risks in cooklines. Oil, crumbs, grease and debris fall into the space between fryers, cooktops, ovens or prep benches, creating an unreachable FSANZ 3.2.2A violation zone. Infill benches eliminate these dead gaps and maintain continuous, easy-to-clean stainless surfaces.
Note: Infill benches are not suitable for W6 Wet Zones unless part of a custom sink run.
Infill benches must match the depth of the bench or equipment beside them. Mismatching a 600mm prep bench with a 700/800mm infill (or vice-versa) creates step edges, shadow gaps and major hygiene traps.
Matching infill depth and height preserves a straight cookline, reducing unsafe reach distances and preventing shoulder collisions when turning between appliances.
Infill benches must not obstruct fryer or cooktop side ventilation. A minimal 10–25mm air gap ensures heat dissipation and prevents equipment overheating.
