2. What's Covered
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal commercial use.
- Component failure (compressor, motor, element, control board, thermostat) within the warranty period.
- Replacement parts and authorised-technician labour per the brand's terms.
3. What's Not Covered
- Damage from incorrect installation (inadequate ventilation, wrong gas type, non-compliant electrical).
- Damage from misuse, overloading, or neglect of routine cleaning and servicing.
- Wear items: door gaskets, light bulbs, filters, gas-strut assemblies, castors, knobs.
- Cosmetic damage reported after the 24-hour transit-damage window.
- Equipment installed outside Australia.
- Second-hand or ex-demo equipment unless a warranty is expressly stated on the invoice.
Where a 2+2 warranty is offered, product registration is required within 14 days of invoice to activate the additional 2-year parts-only period. Other brands may have different registration requirements. Two paths:
4. Registering Your Warranty
Registration requirements vary by brand. For every 2+2 warranty listed above, register within 14 days of invoice to activate the additional 2-year parts-only period. Two paths:
- Register yourself — click the link in the warranty-registration email we send 2 days after delivery.
- Let KW do it — reply REGISTER FOR ME to that email. We register on your behalf using your invoice and serial number. Free.
5. Lodging a Warranty Claim
Use our Warranty Claim form — it routes directly to the correct manufacturer.
You'll need:
- Order number (KWC-XXXXXX) or invoice PDF.
- Serial number (usually on a data plate inside the door or on the back panel).
- Fault description — what happened, when, and what error codes appeared.
- 2–3 photos or a short video if visually demonstrable.
Warranty timing varies by brand, fault type, technician availability and destination.
6. During a Claim
- Keep the equipment accessible and safely isolated (power off, gas off) if the fault is safety-related.
- Continue daily cleaning and normal care. Do not attempt repairs yourself — unauthorised repairs void warranty.
- Keep receipts for any urgent temporary hire or workaround cost; some brands consider reimbursement though this is not guaranteed.
7. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
The manufacturer warranty is in addition to, not instead of, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. See Terms of Sale §10.
