Measure ice use across a full operating day, then separately assess the busiest service. Up to 55 kg per 24 hours describes production across a day; it does not provide 55 kg ready for one rush.

Distinguish the approximately 18 kg storage capacity from the approximately 10 kg bin control setting. If your service needs a larger quantity ready at once, compare a machine with a larger bin.

Check the installation space, water and drain connections, power supply and access for cleaning before ordering. Include filter replacements, descaling and professional servicing in the operating plan.

• Blizzard SN-420P Air-Cooled Ice Maker – 189kg/24hr, Cube Ice with 125kg Bin: The Blizzard SN-420P offers 189 kg per 24 hours output and a 125 kg bin, compared with the SN-120P's up to 55 kg per 24 hours and approximately 18 kg storage.
• Blizzard SN-25C Underbench Ice Maker – 25Kg/Day, Bullet Ice, Stainless Steel: The Blizzard SN-25C is a stainless steel under-bench machine producing 25 kg/day of bullet ice, compared with the SN-120P's cube ice and up to 55 kg per 24 hours.

• Bench space and access. Allow for a nominal body size of 500 W × 590 D × 850 H mm, plus airflow, ventilation, door opening and service access. Have a licensed professional install the machine in accordance with its installation instructions.
• Height configuration. The 850 mm height is with supplied castors fitted; the body height without castors or legs is 760 mm, and the supplied height-adjustable legs measure 90–105 mm. Allow for dimensional tolerances of -5 mm to +10 mm and confirm the finished installation envelope before committing to fixed cabinetry.
• Electrical connection. Provide a compatible 240 V, 50 Hz supply for the 480 W machine. A 10A plug and lead are included.
• Water and drainage. Arrange the water inlet, filtration and wastewater connection before installation. The internal drain pump is included, but the installation still needs a suitable wastewater route.
• Monthly and six-monthly care. Clean the air filter monthly and arrange six-monthly descaling and water-filter cartridge replacement. Use a manufacturer-approved, nickel-safe ice-machine descaler on the evaporator plate and water distribution system to remove scale and mineral deposits.
• Sanitation and condenser cleaning. The six-monthly maintenance programme includes sanitising the water reservoir, distribution tubes and bin interior, plus cleaning and flushing the condenser coils. These tasks support ice quality, hygiene and machine care.
• Fan, water system and ice controls. Have the service technician inspect the condenser fan motor and blades, inlet water valve, float and filters, and check ice-thickness probe or sensor calibration. The programme also includes checking the water pump and cleaning its housing.
• Refrigeration and electrical servicing. Professional servicing includes checking refrigerant pressures, superheat and subcooling, adjusting if necessary, and testing compressor amperage and performance. It also covers the harvest cycle's heater or hot-gas valve and the electrical connections, relays and contactors.
• Maintenance and warranty. Keep the machine maintained and replace the inline water-filter cartridge every six months. Failure to maintain the ice machine may void the warranty.
