Where are Washtech dishwashers made?

Washtech commercial dishwashers and glasswashers are engineered in New Zealand for the Australasian market, with designs that reflect local kitchen layouts, water conditions and service expectations.

Do Washtech machines meet Australian compliance requirements?

Washtech models are configured to align with common Australian electrical and plumbing standards. Your plumber and electrician must always confirm final compliance on site, but the range is widely used in compliant commercial kitchens across Australia and New Zealand.

What warranty does Washtech offer?

Warranty varies by model and distributor. KW Commercial Kitchen will confirm the current Washtech warranty terms for your specific machine, including labour and parts coverage, at the time of quotation.

How do I know if I need an undercounter or passthrough dishwasher?

Undercounter dishwashers suit smaller venues or tight spaces. Passthrough dishwashers pair with inlet and outlet benches for higher volumes and ergonomic workflows. If you are unsure, the KW team can review your layout, covers and staffing to recommend the right format.

Can Washtech handle high-volume dishwashing?

Yes, many Washtech passthrough and conveyor models are designed for high-volume service. The key is matching the correct machine to your volume, hours of operation and available services.

The C models add a heat recovery or condensing unit. That cost is not a rounding error and it varies sharply by series, so it is worth checking on your specific model before assuming. M2 $10,748 becomes M2C $16,542 — a difference of $5,794 AL $14,567 becomes ALC $19,755 — a difference of $5,188 AL8 $17,273 becomes AL8C $26,543 — a difference of $9,270 PW2 $29,334 becomes PW2C $39,094 — a difference of $9,760 PW1 $20,095 becomes PW1C $29,942 — a difference of $9,847 PW3 $34,505 becomes PW3C $47,133 — a difference of $12,628 Heat recovery earns its cost through reduced steam load and lower incoming-water heating, so it pays back fastest on machines running long shifts. On the PW3 the premium is $12,628 — that needs a real duty-cycle calculation, not a rule of thumb.

Warranty — 5-2-2 across the range

Every Washtech machine KW supplies carries the 5-2-2 warranty: 5 years parts warranty on the cabinet, 2 years parts warranty on the wash pump, and 2 years comprehensive parts and labour. This is the current term across the whole range — the same on a $4,079 GE glasswasher as on a $73,501 CD240 conveyor. Confirmed with Moffat Australia (moffat.com.au/washtech-warranty), Washtech's Australian distributor, 6 August 2026. One thing worth knowing if you are comparing quotes: some older published material still shows a 5-2-1 structure, with one year of comprehensive parts and labour rather than two. That is the superseded term. The comprehensive period is now two years. If a competing quote cites 5-2-1, it is working from out-of-date information — not offering you something different. The two-year comprehensive period is the part that matters commercially. Cabinet parts cover is common across the category; parts and labour is where the real exposure sits, because technician time on a commercial warewasher is usually the larger half of any repair bill.

Common misuse

If you need a machine for glassware only, the G series is built for it and the dishwasher series is not the cheaper path to the same result. If your constraint is rack size rather than throughput, moving up a series will not help. A 450 mm machine does not become a 500 mm machine by costing more. If your duty cycle is short, the heat recovery premium above is unlikely to pay back within a typical replacement cycle. If you need published cycle times, water consumption per cycle or electrical loads for every model, those are not published consistently across the range. We hold them for GE, XG and TW only, and will obtain the rest from Moffat for your shortlist rather than estimate them.
